McDonald's Family Fun Zone
We are pleased to welcome LIT, leaders in training and look forward to the energy of youth these role models bring to the fair. Learn about CAN, Canucks Autism Network will provide a sensory zone with hockey, giant Jenga, coloring, headphones, sunglasses and giveaways on Saturday, Aug. 27. VIRL, Vancouver Island Regional Library will come with two staff members on each of the three days from 11 am to
to 3 pm with a variety of hands on analogue activities and maybe even a story time. Science Nanaimo will come from 10 am to 2 pm on all three days with three of their impressive crew giving information on bees and pollination. Craig, the magician is coming for 6 hours every day and Bounce a Rama is bringing three inflated castles and games. We are thrilled the RCMP, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Nanaimo Fire Rescue will be at the fair.
On the sports field, we have mini golf in the shape of VIEX with a windmill and lighthouse for you to navigate through. Cross over the bridge and challenge your friends at the corn hole game, the twister, the ladder ball, the frisbee, the bubbles and the hula hoops. Take family photos with the farm scenes and try out the Zorbs.
On Saturday, the 27, at 11 am on the main stage we will feature the Children’s Pet Show followed by the Children’s Parade at 1130 am. On Sunday, Aug. 28 stand by for the fun of Veggie Car Racing. The Family Fun Zone will accommodate visitors with a seniors rest area, a baby change table and a place for breastfeeding babies.
