As we have now entered Step 3 in BC’s Restart Plan, Fairs and Festivals may “Return to normal”.
What does this mean, exactly? Here is what we know!
We will be able to completely open with a communicable disease prevention plan in place. This means extra hand sanitizing and hand washing stations, capacity limits and recommending masks for all indoor spaces, extra cleaning practices on high use or high touch areas, reminding folks if you are not well to stay home, and maintaining social distancing guidelines and respecting other people and their space, etc.
We also understand that not everyone is going to be ready to attend a larger-scale event like the fair, so we have decided to keep the virtual aspect of the fair with video content, contests, and live streams from the fair on our website!
This year, to support local, the fair is “Buying BC” in that all our vendors, entertainers, etc. are all from right here in BC and MOST of those are from Vancouver Island! So, make sure to come out and support these artists and businesses that have struggled to survive in the Pandemic and help boost our local economy.
It is also important to note that this is a MODIFIED fair! This year will be a smaller scaled event in comparison to past years. Being that we have now less than 2 months to do a years worth of planning, there is only so much the board and team of volunteers can do but we assure you we are working around the clock to bring as much fun and excitement as we can this summer and we look forward to seeing all your smiling faces again!
More details and information will be announced as things are finalized and approved so stay tuned!
