How to Volunteer

Do you have an interest in your community? Do you have organizational skills, deal well with the public and like to meet new people? Are you artistic, or creative? Do you have an interest in animals? Then the Vancouver Island Exhibition needs you as a volunteer!!

Help out the VIEx and join a committee.  We are always looking for people who like to be a part of the planning stage of the fair.  It's not hard and we have lots of fun doing it.

2010 Fair Committees

Set-up

• If you're good with a hammer and nails and would like to help us put up and take down our gates, and fences we could use those skills.
• At least 4-6 very strong people to help set-up the Entertainment Stage on Thursday afternoon and to take it down again on Sunday afternoon.
• We need at least 15 people a few days before the Fair to help set-up tables and booths in the Centennial Building - Home Arts Division.
• Grounds Decorators

During the Fair

If you are interested in helping us out during the fair here are some of the areas that we need volunteers for:

• Parking
• Security
• Home Arts
• Kids Zone
• Information Booth
• Grounds Cleaner
• Cashiers
• Entrance Gates (wristbands)
• Grounds Entertainment
• Runner
• Volunteer check-in
• People Mover (must have valid driver’s license)
• Administration

Volunteer Job Descriptions

It is because of our volunteers that the fair is made possible. With the continued support from our volunteers the VIEx is able to maintain a great reputation. Join us after the fair for a Big Volunteer Appreciation Party!  There will be great music, great food and great fun!!!!
