Nanaimo BMX At The VIEx

Come see the "Nanaimo BMX - 19th Annual Race For Life" event happening on fair weekend (August 19th, 20th, and 21st, 2011)!!  This special BMX event is a fundraiser for BC Children's Hospital Leukemia Cancer Research.  Click on the link below for more information:

The First Annual Nanaimo Toy Run will be
held on July 2, 2011. This event in support of the
children of Greater Nanaimo and is open to all riders
and supporters.
The ride will start at the Cedar Community Hall and
proceed through downtown Nanaimo ending at
Beban Park.
Registration @ 9:00 AM - Ride Starts @ 12:00 PM
At Beban Park will be events that are open to
everyone.

Children's Poster Competition

VIEx Children's Poster Competition

Winner

Congratulations to Piper Dickhout, this year's winner of the VIEx Children's Poster Competition. Piper, a 12 year old student at McGirr Elementary School, used pencil crayons and markers to produce her original artwork.

Piper's submission will be featured on the cover of our 2011 Prize Book, and will be included (with picture) in the upcoming Program Guide as well as receiving recognition (with photo) in the local newspapers. In addition, Piper has won a one-day family pass with meal tickets for 4 people to this year's fair.

Thank you to all of this year's hopefuls who took the time to enter into our annual event.  The response was enormous and the decision was almost impossible.
